family ties

Last Saturday I was privileged to photograph the Norton family. Jessica and her sister Melissa joined me at the Horseshoe to take some family pictures. Both families were absolutely adorable and I had such a great time working on the photos. Each one made me smile. Here are just a few of my favorites.

The kids were so well behaved and thankfully the weather held off until the next day. The heat didn't, however, but it worked out none-the-less.

Thank you to the Norton's for a beautiful session!

i'll take some summer with my rain

Ugh! If you haven't noticed, it's been raining. A lot. And it seems like it's everywhere! I can't get away from it. For nearly 3 weeks I feel like we have had a rainstorm (or two) every single day. I didn't know mother nature could produce such precipitation...

Regardless our wet June turning July, we've had a pretty busy few weeks of summer. Our most recent adventures have taken us to the Northwestern part of the state, and some of NC.

Lake Jocassee:

One of the most beautiful places in the Southeast. Gorgeous!

The weather was absolutely wonderful (somehow the rain held off on this day). For June, we didn't break a sweat and although the water was chilly, it was worth every bit of it when we were able to swim up to the many waterfalls around the lake. It was a beautiful, last minute planned weekend.

Downtown Greenville:

The day after Lake Jo, we took a trip to downtown g'ville to take some pictures of these cutie patooties!

This is Ali & Stewart; the Fox's brother and fiancé. We had such a good time at this impromptu engagement sesh and we can't wait for their wedding next year!

Western NC:

Always a pleasure, this time it was a little different. We had planned on a family vacation of hiking and enjoying the outdoors, but instead we got an indoor 4-day weekend with lots and LOTS of rain. There were very little breaks in the unrelenting downpours, but we made the best of what we had.

Not what we expected for a 4th of July celebration, but it was still a fun and productive vacation. Hopefully, next year our 4th will be full of sun and fireworks!

The last half of the summer plans to be a busy one, so stay tuned! Happy Summer, everyone!
